Friday Is For Fun: Open Houses
Yes, touring open houses is fun. It is fun for dreamers, shoppers, and agents, at least this real estate agent. For me it goes back before I was married to Kathleen. I had been an agent for a builder, Marilyn Williams Construction, and on our first date we went touring her homes for sale, some still under construction. What a date you might suggest. OK, we also went to dinner at Benihana’s and the Irish Rovers concert. Don’t laugh, we are both Irish she a Sweeney and me a Cragun. FYI, Cragun may just be Scottish or Scotts-Irish.
If open houses weren’t cool why would The Salt Lake City Parade of homes be so popular? Of course neighbors take advantage of open houses, sometimes to check value and sometimes because they are curious. Curious is ok, even fun.
The dreamers and scoper outers are always welcome at open houses. Sometimes you find just the right home. Sometimes you may discover you want a home, and can even afford to buy it, when you just drop in. On one occasion I had a woman that said, “I love this home but I could never qualify for it”. “Let’s find out I offered.” She qualified, she now owns the home.
Tomorrow I am holding five homes open in two different condominiums, Canyon Road Towers, and Garden Towers, both are in downtown Salt Lake City, Utah. Come and be curious and visit. The prices ranges are wide, from $209,000 to $599,000. The reason for the varied range will be obvious with the visit, one even has three parking stalls. The most expensive one is actually a terrific value. The times are listed in both Saturday’s Deseret News and Salt Lake Tribune as well as being posted in the Wasatch Front MLS. To find our local real estate MLS just search for UtahHomes.com.
Be you dreamer, agent, buyer, or neighbor open houses are truly fun on any day of the week.
