Moving Down To Lock & Leave, Or Just Dreaming?

Garden Towers Downtown Salt Lake City

Moving Down To Lock & Leave, Or Just Dreaming?

Moving Down To Lock & Leave, Or Just Dreaming? The Penthouse top floor condominium in Garden Towers has been a treat to market. One agent that visited last month said it was the nicest condo in Salt Lake City. It's a dream home. Overt the past months over 100 people have toured the home. Most have come through one of the open houses we have held. I connect with most of those who visit. It's a welcome opportunity from most to get my regular newsletter on what's happening in Salt Lake City real estate. I find peple friendly and open to discuss this home and what is happening.

These over 100 people mostly fall into one category of home shoppers: 'thinking of moving down to Lock & Leave. Thinking about it is an accurate description. Acting on it, not so accurate. I laughed last week as a selling agent for a retirement center shared with me the challenge she has in helping people make the transition from large homes to small assisted living. It's a grueling issue. Recently I sold a condo in Canyon Road Towers for a 94 year old neighbor. It was the same problem, not wanting to make the move.

The issue is an issue of contradictory forces. On one hand you want to make the move. On the other hand it seems overwhelming. One possible buyer says they will make the change. They have a 6000+ Square foot home and just the two of them living in it. The home is full of precious furniture and items. How do you tackle such a problem? How to most is to put it off.

Kathleen and I have moved down three times. We have discovered some secrets in making it quite comfortable. They are based on finding the right home, dealing with the possible financial issues, making it stress free or at least reasonably stress free, and being able to make wise choices in dealing with all the 'stuff' you have accumulated. Hint Hint;; last week we traveled back to Seattle and stayed with three different families. I saw treasures we used to own in each home. Actually it was quite the emotion as there were numberous things our children now treasure that were our treasures.

I will break the what to do advice into a few articles. If you can't wait for them to go live in an article you can contact me at larry@cragun.net or 801-923-4735.

Another hint: Don't put this off, Moving Down To Lock & Leave is a step into a better life.
